What you are about to read is written on September 15th 2010
Sometimes vi have big fires in the woods in the mountains, but this year has been rather peaceful. Until today or rather as I write.
I heard the sirens, went to my terrasse, saw that it was the fire department, turned to the mountains behind me and saw this
med meterhøje flammer.
A couple of seconds later, it looked like this with very high flames
Så kom der 2 af dem her
Then 2 of these came
One of them brought water for the Mediterranean nearby. The other one got the water from a rainwater tanks close to our house. Usually the tanks contain water for watering plants.
In spite of that 5 minutes later, it looked like this
20 sekunder!!!!
And now we know how long it takes to burn down a whole hillside from buttom to top. 20 seconds!!!!
Og det blev ved
And it went on
Og yderligere en vandflyver blev sat ind.
And another plane came
And a helicopter from the military with a bigger watertank came
It all started around noon and not until 9.00 pm the last helicopter unloaded the last tank of water
It is my first time as a writing reporter an eye witness. I dont think I am suited for that. People and animals are living on that hill side or should I say lived. I hope there were no casualties.
A naked hillside after a fire is not a pretty sight.

I saw those helicopters. I didn't realize the fire was so close to you guys. Scary.
