As I have told you before it has been a very wet summer in DK this year. But finally my squash were beginning to bloom. That´s right, the ones we last year ate stuffed with cheese and anchovies in late June. Also the strawberries were beginning to turn red. But look here!
This was what I found this morning. Everything eaten. All my squash, strawberries, columbines, rose buds even the leaves of my harvest anemone.
Og her er synderen.
And here is the sinner.
The babybambi that was born in our garden |
Or rather sinners. Mum was there too.
So now I am living in a Fort where all edible is fenced in.
Undtagen tallerkensmækkerne og pelargonierne (endnu!).
Except nasturtium and geraniums (yet!)
And one strawberry that I will eat after having taken this photo.
They also don't like red currant so I picked them and made red currant jelly.
Very surprised the babybambi is now walking around looking at all the fences. In this picture it looks as if it is considering starting to eat from the bird feeders.
In spite of all this it is hard to be angry with them.
Oh yeah, I also want to show you that the squirrels have found a way to eat from the bird feeders. Hanging in the hind legs with the head down they eat with the forelegs the small pieces of food it can drag from the feeders
