No, this is not referring to The Royal English wedding. Sykes and Alison got married and we wanted to congratulate them. But what do you give a young newly wed couple? The U.S. it is custom to refer to gift list that informs what they wish, where it can be bought and at what cost. Now that is good consumer information, but a service that is not yet common in Denmark.
Given that the wedding took place some time ago Teddy and I took the liberty to decide what this beautiful young couple really lacked. The choice fell on a bread basket with a unique design with a central section of Bruyere to put cheese on and merge of morningdue willow around to put bread on and a bottle of nice wine, which they hopefully have left over from the wedding as it is too inconvenient to travel with. All enjoyed accompagnied by good nordic music performed by Teitur from The Fairy Islands on his new CD called Let the dog drive home.
Here comes the proof that the basket is homemade.
Bruyere, pil og en god kop pebermyntethe/Briar, willow and a cup of peppermint tea |
Arbejdet starter/The work starts |
Kurvens bund er færdig/The buttom of the basket is finish |
Så skal siden flettes /Time to weave the side of the basket |
Afslutningskanten er flettet/The upper edge is finish |
Og her er så det færdige resultat/Here the finished basket |
Also I would like so send happy greetings to my knitting friends, who today gather in front of the TV at Christines house, all dressed up to watch the royal wedding. Have fun girls.
